The Best Credit Phone Apps for 2022

Credit Repair had graduated to the big time in the past year. While most credit repair requires old school approaches, monitoring your credit on your phone has never been easier. Let’s break down the best credit phone apps for 2022.

The Right App and Purpose.

Understanding to need and purpose is key to choosing the best credit phone app in 2022. For example, some require subscription but have more robust information while others are free but provide mere snapshots. Breaking down what is best is really personalized. I will discuss a couple of my favorite apps.

The MyFICO App: Best Credit Phone Apps for 2022 (If you can afford it)

MyFICO is the best credit related app and service on the market. I have spoke about MyFICO in literally dozens of articles. In fact, for three years I was a moderator on the MyFICO community forum. My opinion might seem biased, but it really is based in fact. MyFICO provides the most information , the best UX and the quickest way to monitor your credit from you phone. The drawback? It costs a lot of money. Way too much money, in fact. My credit repair principal is simple. You do what you need to do to get the job done. This app gives you the best options.

  • Credit monitoring.
  • REAL Fico scores (all 44 of them!) quarterly.
  • All three credit reports quarterly.
  • Daily updates to your FICO 9 score on all THREE scores (which is similar to what you can get from many credit card companies)
  • GREAT breakdowns on what is dropping you score.
  • Credit score simulator.
  • Price: $39.99 per month

The Credit Karma App: You Get What You Pay For (Which is Not Much)

The Credit Karma app is still my go to if you need a free app to monitor your credit. Yes, it is add heavy. Yes, the score is a Vantage score which is essentially worthless, but the user experience is top notch and it will work in a pinch. The most important part? You do not need to pay for it (although you pay in other ways, such as providing them your data)

  • Credit monitoring.
  • Vantage scores (FAKO and not real FICO scores used by lenders)
  • Transunion and Equifax monitoring and scores (no Experian)
  • Weekly updates to those scores.
  • Price: Free

Anyone rebuilding their credit NEEDS to have one of the two apps listed above. Sure, NerdWallet, Credit Sesame, all have similar function as Credit Karma but the UX for Credit Karma really is the best.
