I searched the entire internet, it seems, to find information on How to Remove HSBC Charge Off from Credit Report. After I came up short, I decided to create my own approach. This is more of a bombardment more than it is an approach.
(NOTE: since the original removal of this account. HSBC has been purchased by Capital One. You can vary your approach and add some Capital One addresses in the good will attempts)
First off, as mentioned in my Portfolio Recovery Associates article, I had a charge off for a small HSBC credit card. This card was a small limit card of $200, but as I ignored this account is ballooned out of control. Not fun.
Once I took care of the Portfolio Recovery Associates account, I decided to good will the account with HSBC.
Be mindful of a couple things: First off, HSBC had already sold this debt, so paying PRA did nothing for them. The hope was, that in my letter, I could mentioned the payment on this debt in hopes that although they were never made whole of the debt, they can see that I am taking care of my obligations now. This is important to any bank, and knowing you are working to remedy mistakes could harbor good will.
I created a good will letter and sent it to the HSBC main office in New York City. They send back a letter indicating this account was sold and they cannot do anything. I figured. So the next approach was a bombardment. I sent a letter to the following addresses, once a day, for 5 days. I will be adding addresses as I get them

This seemed to work because low and behold, I received a letter stating this account will be removed from credit reporting. This is how to remove HSBC charge off from credit report.
Steps to Remove HSBC Charge Off From Credit Report.
- Pay the collection company related to the charge off (OPTIONAL!)
- Bombard HSBC will good will letters. Find as many HSBC and Capital One addresses you can find.
